Amazon Kindle Fire HD VS. Google Nexus 7
If there should be a comprehensive conclusion for tablet PC size, “not all tablets are suitable for a size” should be the best description. In this respect, tablet PC manufacturer Amazon proves this quite obviously. Recently, Amazon officially releases the 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD tablet PC, and simultaneously a smaller 7-inch version with the same specifications was released. It is boasted that Kindle Fire HD is the most advanced one among its peer products.
It can be said as exaggerated especially many new tablets are released continually recently. Google Nexus 7 released in June is the representative of 7-inch market entry level tablets. Whether Amazon has the ability to keep up with the rhythm of Google is still dubious. If only judging the hardware configuration, Kindle Fire HD will not be inferior to Google Nexus 7.
Conventional Amazon Hardware Design
In appearance, Kindle Fire HD can only be described as conventional. There are no differences between the 7-inch model and its peer products in the market. If the logo is being removed, users are difficult to figure out which one is Kindle Fire HD. The 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD is said to be with extremely superior display performance. It has the same resolution with 7-inch Google Nexus 7.
Proper Hardware Specifications and Internal Structure
From the internal structure side, there is no obvious difference between Android tablets in the current market. Amazon Kindle Fire HD is with a built-in Texas Instrument OMAP 4460 dual-core processor, which can run Amazon customized Android operating system smoothly. And the Nexus 7 which is equipped with Tegra 3 chip performs quite excellently as well.
Ecological System—the Decisive Factor
The reason that Amazon can still win a success under the condition that Apple iPad has dominated the tablet PC market lies in: Amazon is with an ecological system which is superior to its competitors. Digital content consumption platforms including Kindle Store, Amazon MP3 are remarked as another powerful ecological system that can compete with Apple App Store. Android tablet manufacturers including Google cannot provide such a platform. Google focuses on Google Play content consumption platform currently. In the future, all Android manufacturers will take benefits from it, but it is restricted to the development of Google.
